Children and young people

Sunday Club for our three parishes takes place in Claverdon Church Centre at 11am every Sunday (except the first Sunday of the month, when the Family Service happens instead in church). It attracts around 30 children, with another 8 or so of Senior School age. If you’d like to join in the fun, contact

The teenagers organise occasional youth services with David Benskin our Youth Worker (see below), and also have their own cell group. We have a comprehensive and ambitious programme for youth in the area, and our Youth Workers are especially valued for their work in Henley and Studley High Schools.

Since the end of 2007, we have committed ourselves to supporting work among young people in Coventry city centre by funding the Youth Ministry at Coventry Cathedral.

David Benskin - Youth Worker

David Youth Worker A

I am David and I am St Michael and All Angels, Claverdon's Youth Worker. I work in Henley High School on a Wednesday and Thursday lunch time. On a Wednesday, I go out into the playground and just talk to the young people. On a Thursday I run the Christian Union with the help of the Studley youth worker and on a Friday I help her run Studley High Christian Union. I also help run the youth club, which is on the 2nd Friday of the month, and the Sunday clubs which are held in the Church Centre at 11 o’clock. There is also a new youth group on a 2nd Wednesday called Thoughts, with games and bible studies and time to ask any questions on faith. It starts at 7:30 till 9:00pm.

I am studying for a BA Honours Degree in Youth & Community Work and Practical Theology at Bristol Baptist College on a Monday and Tuesday.

In all my work in Claverdon and in my studying, there is one particular verse that helps me; Jeremiah 29v 11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope”. It is a very good verse and I hope it helps you all too.

God Bless
